Laurel Anne Hill
An award-winning author talks about (1)breathing life into writing & (2)HeroRATs
Laurel Anne Hill is the author of "Heroes Arise" (2007, KOMENAR Publishing), an award-winning parable about breaking the cycle of vengeance, about reaching into our personal darkness and finding the light of reason. "Heroes Arise" is available in hard cover, trade paper & as an e-book.
On August 17, 2010, AOL News published Laurel's opinion piece about HeroRATs, the giant pouched African rats used to detect landmines and tuberculosis. Laurel would love to talk to students about HeroRATs. The link for Laurel's article is as follows: http://www.aolnews.com/opinion/article/opinion-support-your-local-hero-rat/19595717.
Laurel grew up in San Francisco, with more dreams of adventure than good sense or money. Her close brushes with death, love of family, respect for honor and belief in a higher power continue to influence her writing and life. In high school, Laurel entered many writing contests and her winnings financed four years of her college tuition. She now loves to talk to students about writing, and also about science fiction and fantasy.
She lives in Northern California with her husband, David, and their affectionate 100-pound werewolf.
